North Aquaculture was selected to support a customer seeking to increase the production capacity of their existing recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). The primary objective was to enable a higher feeding rate while maintaining stable water quality and ensuring reliable system performance.
As production demands increased, the customer required additional biological treatment capacity to support a feed increase of 334 kg/day. The existing system had reached its current operational limits, making an upgrade necessary to achieve the desired production targets without compromising fish welfare or system stability.
To meet these requirements, North Aquaculture delivered and installed:
- Two fixed bed filters – Ø3648, height 6996 mm.
- A complete access platform
- Process piping for integration with the existing facility
- Mechanical and process connections to the existing RAS system
- Automated cleaning cycle
The biofilters were designed and integrated to provide the additional biological treatment capacity required for the increased feed load, while ensuring seamless operation with the customer’s existing infrastructure.
