Description
The technology has been successfully tested over the past five years. The initial system was implemented in a large post-smolt facility in Norway, where it has been producing Atlantic salmon fry for the past two years.
The system operates at a salinity level of 0.5‰ and a temperature range of 12–14 °C, achieving a 98% water recycling rate.
Biofiltration is fully integrated into the SCADA system for automated control, with backwashing scheduled every four weeks.
