North Aquaculture has delivered a comprehensive aquaculture research and investigation system for the University of Stirling, designed to support advanced studies on all freshwater finfish species under both RAS and flow-through configurations.
The facility, full PE designed, includes multiple experimental units equipped with mechanical filtration, biofilters, degassing systems, UV and ozone treatment, allowing precise control of water quality and environmental parameters. Each unit can be independently operated to simulate various culture conditions, enabling researchers to conduct comparative trials and optimize production methods.
This project demonstrates our commitment to providing flexible, high-performance systems that support scientific innovation, sustainable aquaculture practices, and the development of next-generation rearing technologies.
NATIH is funded by a £17million investment by the UK Government through the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal, as well as a £1million Wolfson Foundation grant, and additional investment from the University of Stirling.
