Concept

During this phase, the concept for the RAS facility is developed and the project is broadly defined. A preliminary study is conducted to assess feasibility by identifying and analyzing parameters such as production requirements, building footprint, and cost efficiency.

A preliminary feasibility study typically includes:

  • RAS dimensioning / Water quality requirements
    • Temperature variance
    • Salinity levels
    • Oxygen & lime consumption
    • Biomass capacity & density
    • Biofilter & degassing capacity
    • Fish feeding rates
    • Water flow per tank/system & retention time
    • Water exchange and intake capacity (fresh / marine water)
  • Initial energy consumption report
  • Building footprint & layout drawings (LOD 100)
  • Cost & risk analysis
  • Design time schedule
  • Scope of Works (SOW)
